The Great Darning Needle Illusion - Ken Ward
This is a very puzzling effect where a darning needle unthreads itself under the spectator's gaze.
A member of the large audience threads a metre long length of heavy cotton thread, through the eye of a large darning needle, two spectators each hold one end of the thread. The needle is covered with a handkerchief. The point of the needle is then passed through the handkerchief and is held by one of the spectators. The needle is then pulled right through the material of the handkerchief and it is found to have left the thread. Everything can be examined after with no real explanation.
